Get more traffic to my website
Get more traffic to my website is a plea I hear more than anything these days! You can have whistles and bells on your blog or website and it won’t mean diddly squat unless you have traffic going to it.
This is where online marketing strategies come in and this is my world! It doesn’t have to be scientific or technical. You just go where people are using the internet. Where are they hanging out and what questions are they asking? What problems do they have? Let’s look at answering those questions and where we can find this traffic and direct it to your blog or site.
Answer people’s questions
Yahoo answers is a good place to start when satisfying my clients’ cry of get more traffic to my website. In order to solve people’s problems, we need to know what questions people are asking. Yahoo answers is a treasure trove of questions and people’s problems. Just by digging down we can find the questions and problems then set about solving them and then directing this traffic to your blog.
Satisfy peoples’ thirst for video
Let’s face it. Most of us are lazy! It’s true. Do you really think people would like to read 600, 700 or even 800 word blog articles? OR would they like to click on a video and be told what the information is? The video can be optimised to tell the whole story and there is always a description box to give a short summary of the content and links can be placed within it to direct these people to your products or services. I use video marketing a lot and when done right, it is a very powerful way of developing trust and keeping visitors to your blog there a lot longer. My visitors started staying on my blog a lot longer when I posted videos on my site. It is easy and simple to record a short video about your products and services. You don’t need to be Denzel Washington or Meryl Streep. If I can do it, so can you!
Social Interaction online
Sites like Facebook and Twitter are huge resources to get more traffic to my website. I can visit specific groups within Facebook and interact with people in certain niches. Once I identify someone’s problem, I can go about trying to solve that problem which gives me value and starts to develop trust between myself and the prospect. Twitter can be used in the same way, although it is a different mechanism. It is easier to connect with people because you only have to ‘Follow’ someone rather than wait to be accepted as a friend. Either way, you can prospect groups of people and before you know it, you can direct this traffic to your blog.
Blogging solves problems
I love blogging! It is definitely my platform in helping individuals and businesses with their issues. By researching the issues out there in my niche, I can then set about solving these problems and write about them. Through careful keyword research and search engine optimisation, I can direct traffic to my blog and as a result I get subscribers to my email list and I build trust through solving people’s problems and giving them value.
