Make money blogging for beginners

Make money blogging for beginners is going to give you newbies some great information on how to gear your blog up for making some money. It doesn’t really matter what your market is or what niche you are in. the techniques are the same for everyone. So, here goes!

Relevant post title to answer people’s problems

When people goto Google, or Bing or whatever search engine they prefer. They are going to ask a question and they are going to want an answer. What if I told you, that you can find out what questions are being asked of the search engines and that you can answer these questions and provide an answer to potentially thousands of people? Well you can! Goto Yahoo answers and you can work your way through hundreds and hundreds of questions that people are asking!

Once you’ve found a question relevant to your product or service, you can go about using your product or service to answer that question in the form of blog content. The title you choose for your post is the answer to the question that you found! This post title will get ranked in the search engines and you will get some of the traffic to your site through doing this. This free information will place you as an authority with the people who find your content and will very likely return to your blog.

Answer people’s problems with a short video

Video is incredibly powerful at the moment and is set to get bigger and more influential. One of reasons why most people are said to fail at online marketing is the same reason people generally prefer to watch video than read all your hard researched text……LAZINESS!

That’s right folks! There’s only one reason why you have put together 600 words or so and types it up and spell checked it for the blog. The search engines need to crawl your text in order to rank it.

People would rather watch a video and be spoon fed their information rather than read it. Statistics tell us that 90% of people are going to click on a video in search engine results and on blogs.

You will know from all of my blog posts that I have a short video of some description under the first or second paragraph. That is so when my blog is loaded onto your monitor, you will see my video right there without having to scroll down the page – AGAIN……PEOPLE ARE LAZY! No offense but it’s the truth! You might as well learn and study human nature and apply it to your blogs.

Write your content with your customer or prospect in mind

Now, I know I said that 90% of your visitors are more likely to watch your video rather than read your text. But some people will read most or all of it so you need to write your content in a way that gets your point across. Optimising your content just for the search engines can lack emotion and personality. Get passionate about what you’re talking about and make a great impression on the person that chose your content over everyone else’s. Write at least 300 words but I recommend around 600 words. It’s not too long or too short for your visitor.

Build an Email List

Finally, I like to build an email list with people who liked my content and I want them to come back. A lot of internet marketers build huge lists but then lose their subscribers by continually trying to sell to them. Big mistake. The best thing way to treat your prospects or potential customers is to give them FREE information. Keep adding value to yourself and build trust with them. Your prospects will visit your site at least 4 or 5 times to keep reporting back to your content.

So, instead of spamming them with crappy affiliate products that they will get refunds or returns for anyway, send your list your new blog content. I create fresh new content at least 5 times per week and send the link out to my list. Not all of them will click on it but most do which keeps the traffic coming and keeps the trust building. I say this over and over again, but people buy from people. Do you like to be sold to? I don’t!  It’s bloody annoying and disrespectful. If I want something I’ll ask for it thankyou very much! If someone wants to bombard me with their awful links then I’ll unsubscribe straight away! Rant over with.

Follow these initial rules when you get started and you’ll develop good habits. I hope you got some use from make money blogging for beginners

Keep smiling :)

piggyback big time keywords to drive traffic to your blog

After yesterday’s serous content it’s time to get back to some light-hearted business. Today I am talking about using your choice of You tube video title or blog post title to get you more views and traffic. I’m talking about piggyback big time keywords to drive traffic to your blog.

By using valuable keywords like Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, Apple, or Google within the long tail keyword for your titles, you will get the traffic from people broad searching these valuable keywords. This is particularly true for video platforms. There is a definite increase in view figures for my videos using this strategy.

I fimed a couple of videos on the Google Panda algorithm changes in April and my views are still going up on those because I used the word Google and Google Panda which is a hot topic amongst SEO people and also new students of SEO and online marketing. Some people are obsessed with getting page1 rankings on Google, so the Panda and the Penguin are hot at the moment!

Also as Youtube use tags to arrange and organise their content, putting these valuable keywords into your titles will more than likely get your videos found more easily and accumulate more views. I get a lot of traffic to my blog using this strategy and my email list grows as a happy result.

Here are some examples of my use of this strategy:

 Top Ten Youtube Tips

• Tips for getting traffic from Facebook

• Best way to promote Clickbank products

• Google Panda update 2012

If you can get the words ‘tips or hints’ into your titles then that’s another great source of traffic. People regularly put long tail keywords into their search engines. I generally find that people ask their questions on the search engines which is why tips or hints is a good tactic to use when writing or filming content. The reason why I chose the Clickbank product title was because I saw this question being asked over and over again on Yahoo answers and forums across the internet. People were wanting to know what was the best way to promote Clickbank products. So, I did my research on Google keyword tool and checked the search figures on google search for that long tail keyword and the results were good so I created the content!

It really is that simple to use popular terms and words that are the consciousness of us all at a given time. There are so many words that I’ve not used yet, that I’ll be using myself very soon. Look out for them in my Youtube channel and see the difference in view figures against content that doesn’t have them. I hope this content on piggyback big time keywords to drive traffic to your blog helps you in your strategies.

Catch you tomorrow guys!

Reasons To Have A Blog

Reasons To Have A Blog

To build and increase internet traffic: Businesses and individuals who have a blog are known to get 55% more visitors and 67-88% more leads than they would if they did not have a blog. That is a significant amount of leads and traffic that you could have going to your online business. It’s a no-brainer when considering reasons to have a blog.

Search Engine Optimisation: It’s very easy to add and publish fresh new content whenever you want. Search engines love original, new content. They are in the information business and we can get our content ranked high with keyword rich text, images and a short video in the post. It’s a very simple formula to get SEO right and you won’t have to worry about Pandas or Penguins if you play fair and write fresh content!

New Subscribers: Another great reason to have a blog. A regular blogger getting fresh content out there every couple of days or so is going to attract a lot of good attention. Regular bloggers get an audience and they gather round on a regular basis to listen to what you have got to say. People will then subscribe to your RSS feed and then your email list and then they’ll will buy from you once trust is established. Gary Vaynerchuk is a huge advocate of blogging- video blogging in-particular. Reaching out and being passionate about your product or service will cross over to your subscriber.

Solve People’s Problems. This is my greatest reason for having a blog. I have been teaching my newbie students to look at what questions are being asked in the search engines or sites like Yahoo answers. People who have a specific problem will go to these places and ask for answers to their particular problems. Think about it for a minute.

This means that Google and Bing are a treasure trove of questions desperate to be answered and you have the answers my friends! Find the question in your niche and you answer it. You will get the traffic to your blog and it is that simple.

I always like to quote my mentor, David Boozer, who is content king of the Pacific North-West! He drilled it into me to, “Find the treasure laying around in search engines and yahoo answers”. Because  solving someone’s problems gets you a loyal subscriber and a very warm lead. You then have to research your post title correctly, apply the correct keywords and get on page 1 of SERPS and you’ll get that traffic! Helping people and solving their problems is what the search engines are all about.

Give Yourself Authority: By regularly writing and commentating about your subject, product or service on a regular basis – you will gain trust and authority. Are you more likely to keep following a blogger who has a bunch of recent posts or a blogger who sticks to his subject passionately and resolutely and has a bank of posts and categories on his or her blog. It’s the former for me!

So there you go. These are just some of my top reasons for having a blog. Get in the habit of being passionate about your subject. Because passion and wanting to tell your side of the story will beat the competiton and get you the attention your blog deserve

Top Ten YouTube Tips

My Top Ten YouTube Tips for today will help tighten up your channel, organise your content better and hopefully get you plenty more views! Many channels are neglected and left to gather dust. With a simple, organised strategy – there’s no reason why you can’t crush it and see off your competitors. You Tube has an estimated 1 billion DAILY hits! I know I want a piece of that action!

Here we go then with your Top Ten YouTube tips:

1. Customise your Channel. Whether it’s my channel, Facebook page, Twitter account or LinkedIn page, I always concentrate on building and branding myself online. So, I keep the same name for everything, try and use the same images, profile information and links to your primary business or company. This way, people will associate your products or services with YOU.

2. Subtitles. You can use the subtitles to cater for people with hearing difficulties or if regional accents or dialects are a problem. It’s good communication and it’s reaching out to MORE views and traffic! Use any advantage you can find.

3. Use annotations sensibly. No-one likes multiple messages flashing around your video. It’s a turn-off and to be honest, after your third one comes up people stop noticing them anyway! If you find your content has lots of subjects in there then have a look at your delivery and your content and stick to the subject in hand. I generally have one, sometimes two but that’s it. And space them out so when they come up on the screen they are noticible.

4. Protect yourself from offensive comments. You don’t want offensive rubbish on your channel and you really don’t want it to be there for a few days if you can’t get online! So, in your editing mode, de-select video comments.

5. Interact! YouTube is a social network so interact. Leave comments, put likes out there. Show people your personality and what you like to watch. Don’t just put your videos on there and have no profile or personality. Get involved. One hour per week will be enough.

6. Get your Tags right. YouTube’s content is organised on a tag word basis. It is well worth adding the correct tags to your content. I like to use a more-the-merrier attitude to this so I don’t miss the opportunities of more views. So, if I’m uploading a video about protecting pets from ticks and fleas, I’ll use tags like cats, dogs, pooch, kittens, puppies, fleas, ticks, puppies, paws ect. Cover all bases cos we really don’t know what people are putting the video search bar do we?

7. Description box. Use the description box to its maximum potential. So many people don’t use this fantastic tool. You can put plenty of keyword rich content in here along with the link to your product, service or the blog post the video sits in. Have a look at this video for a good example.

8. Get your videos out there. Don’t just leave your videos sat in your Youtube channel. Blog it, Tweet it and Facebook it to name but ways of getting your content more views.

9. Analytics. Use the FREE analytic tools to track your views and get as much data as you can. It can help with testing and to help with future video marketing strategies

10. Keywords. Put a list of keywords at the foot of your description box. Put your tag list there if you want, but I like to put some keywords in the list. This will count as content and this is a brilliant way of ranking your content higher in the search engines.

So there you go! Top Ten YouTube Tips to get you more views to your content.

Content is King

I have been using WordPress Blogs for a long time as it is easy to add fresh new content whenever I want. Unique content is exactly what the search engines want and so do people using the search engines. Companies such as Google and Bing are in the information business and all they want to do is to provide the searcher with the most accurate results to the search. The combination of keywords and relative information to the content title will ensure that in time, your content will rank highly in the search engines.

Here are some important statistics for businesses in Halifax:

• 71% of ALL searches conducted online are local in nature. That’s a huge amount of searches looking for products or services in Halifax. You could be a part of that.
• 60% of revenue is generated online. This figure will increase as the internet grows.
• Google takes up 70% of local search engine use. This is why it’s important to know what Google looks for when ranking new content. All my content is geared towards Google.
• Purchases made on mobile phones in Halifax increases 16% annually. Smart phones will be able to pick up your blog and therefore buy your product or service.
• Finally, MOST local businesses in Halifax FAIL to be on page 1 of search engine results. I can show you how page 1 can be achieved.

Internet marketing help for Halifax businesses

You know your business best:

Many companies, small businesses and individuals employ SEO companies to take care of their search engine optimisation. This can be because some people don’t have the time or think they don’t have the time to do it themselves. Some people think it’s very complicated and some SEO companies give them the impression that it’s very complicated. It’s a lot more straight forward than people think and it can be done with some regular maintenance work.

There are some really good, ethical SEO companies out there but due diligence must be done properly if you really do want to go down that road. But if there is room in your weekly schedule or in that of your staff then I recommend you do it yourself.

As you know your products and services better than anyone, you should be in control of writing or planning your site content. It might sound really obvious but I have seen too many blog posts made by outside contractors brought in by business owners. The content simply won’t convert into good number of sales. How does someone in another country or even county know how to write passionately about local beer produced in Halifax for example. Control your content and you will get better sales or leads.

Internet marketing help for Halifax businesses can come in the form of setting up your blog and social media portfolio. I can train you up to do it yourself or I can set it all up and run a maintenance period in where i can input new content that you have produced or proof read.  I regularly design bespoke packages for individuals and businesses in Halifax as well as across the globe.

Writing a successful blog post

Writing a successful blog post

Writing a successful blog post will attract regular visitors to your blog. As long as the content is relevant to your blog and is interesting to the reader, your content will be well received.

Continually adding successful blog posts will only succeed in increasing traffic to your blog, making it more popular.

There are, however, some important rules to respect when writing a successful blog post, and they are:

• Using clean URL’s

• Writing consistent and relevant content

• Keyword and LSI Keyword use

• Video content

• Image content

• Bullet points

• Social Media posting

• Linking structure to other posts in your blog and to other bloggers

• Readers leaving comments

• Lots of content!

Using Clean URL’s

I’ve seen many blog posts or website page url’s that have a car crash of a url or link that just doesn’t make sense. It isn’t just important that humans can make sense of a url, but also the search engines. With a blog post the title of the post will be in the url. So if you choose a good, relevant title which is relative to the content you will end up with something like –

www.adrianwhitworth.com/writing-a-successful-blog-post  rather than www.adrianwhitworth.com/0235023lkasdnbfl,zxnvlz;kshdrg;so45u7w3405u7w0349utw0

You can see the obvious difference here. Which one would you pick out that is clearer?

writing successful blog post

Writing consistent and relevant content

It is really important to stick to the subject in hand. Yes, you can discuss several topics or subjects within an overall niche or subject. Just make sure it is all relevant. For example, if your overall blog subject or niche is movies then you can talk about independents, action, drama, thrillers or horror. You can also discuss directors, actors, actresses or even stunt performers. What about locations used on period dramas. You can see from this example how you expand content in your blogs but keep the relevancy. This relevancy will please the search engines and get it ranked appropriately.

Keywords and LSI keyword use

Some people spend lots of time on this and some people just get it and quickly pick out the keywords they want to rank for and include in their posts. My take on it is simple as far as post writing is concerned. I look at the body of information that will make up the post and choose 5 keywords that are relevant to the content and use them throughout the content, making sure it reads sensibly. LSI keywords are used around the main keywords which are words relative to the keywords. For example, If I was to use the keyword turntable I would choose LSI keywords such as tone arm, direct drive, vinyl records and stylus.

Video Content

Video is king as far as getting ranked is concerned. There is also a tonne of traffic to be found and used online. It is still being under-used in my opinion and it’s too big a subject to cover here. You don’t need much equipment to do this successfully and you certainly don’t have to be Denzel Washington to be in a video! But check out this link to delve deeper within video content.

Image Content

The use of images in content hasn’t been used properly in my opinion. The use of emotional images along-with the SEO of alt-tags will help get your content ranked even higher. I consider this to be just as important as video marketing. Again, it’s not being utilised to its potential by the majority of bloggers. I will be posting out content regarding this subject very soon.

Social Media Posting

If you can get your content shared out to as many social networks as possible, the search engines will look at this popularity and it will result in better rankings for you. I now have profiles on nearly 20 social media sites and when i post new content on my blog, I bookmark it out to all of these sites. I also work hard on each individual profile as well because I want people to keep coming back to read the content and become friends or contacts because it’s all traffic at the end of the day.

Linking Structure

Linking to other posts in your blog is very good. It highlights the relevancy of all your content with each other and is good for overall ranking for your site. I also link to other bloggers as I think that if you can get many more people joining in the conversation or debate then again, rankings and popularity could increase.

Readers Leaving Comments

I always leave a comments box for readers to use at the bottom of the post. Commenting and having an opinion on a subject is what having a blog is all about. So get one put into your blog and finish your post with a leading question or invite comments. It makes it all so much more interesting.

Lots of content

Finally, writing a successful blog post will get you more traffic. It’s as simple as that. Answer the questions that people are asking on the internet. By doing this, search engine users will see your links and click on through. It’s not rocket science I promise.
