Making it work

Making it work

Making it work has to come from within you. Inner focus and concentrating on your heart and soul will give you the driving forces and your ‘Why’ to fight for what you want in 2013. Recently in Texas, David Sharpe address a room full of Empower leaders and gave this speech on ‘Making it work’ – Enjoy.

David Sharpe’s Recent Leadership Address

How many of you are committed to making it work and building the biggest business of your entire life in 2013?

What I’m going to ask you guys to do, is I am going to ask you to have an honest conversation with yourselves in the mirror, and ask what you want to do in making it work in 2013.

Some of you want to quit your jobs; a lot of you still have jobs.

Some of you want to be able to vacation like a lot of us.

Some of you want to buy a Maserati and have it delivered to your house.

Some of you want to move to Costa Rica.

Some of you want to go and visit Scotland where you are from, like Toby and Layla just got back from doing.

Some of you want to go and hang out with Simon in the UK and just go and have a ‘Cheeky Pint’ whenever you want. Some of you guys just want to be “Brilliant” like Simon.

Whatever it is that you want to do in 2013, I want you to start putting yourself in that place, in that situation already. When Dave and I started the company, we already knew what we wanted to do, and there was no doubt in our mind as to what we were going to do.

Making it Work!

I don’t know if you were like me growing up, but I knew that people didn’t think like me. I just knew that what was going on in their head was not the same thing that was going on in my head.

When I was swinging a hammer on a construction site, I can remember thinking to myself almost every single day,

This is not where I belong. This is not where I belong, this is not where I belong.”

I would tell myself that over and over and over again, until a door opened up, and I walked through it.

I’ll tell you what, people that live the life of their dreams got there because they were dreaming, they didn’t stop believing. They didn’t stop going out there and fighting.

I don’t care where you are at right now, if your going through something at home, if your going through some personal struggles, because you can get through them, and we’ll help you.

The cool thing is that we are on this journey together, and you will never hear out of Dave and I’s mouth, “We’ve arrived.” You will never hear that, because the day that someone tells you that, you’d better turn the other way and run.

…the day that someone tells you that, you’d better turn the other way and run.”

You’ve got to stay in the process of developing your skills and your heart. A lot of people wonder what the missing key is. The missing key is that you’ve got to get up every single day and find something that is going to inspire you in making it work.

I’ve got some secrets to my success and they are the basics. You don’t need to go out there and do anything special. You need to turn the focus inside. You need to focus, you need to get serious, 2013 is already here. Lets do it.

Your Challenge

I want you to do what David Sharpe asked us leaders to do in this speech. I want you to look in the mirror and ask yourself what you really want.

What are you going to do in 2013?

See yourself there as if it has already happened.

Go out there and take action until you have made it a reality.

2013 is your year. Lets lock arms and do this together!

Be sure to comment below and let me know what your personal vision is for 2013!

To Your Success and Freedom, making it work

What is Passive Marketing?

What is Passive Marketing?

What is Passive Marketing?

Passive marketing can be very effective as long as you are prepared to sit back and wait for leads or sign-ups to your primary company. Passive marketing is important though, but it is not the most effective form of marketing. Passive marketing involves the following tasks:

  1. Emailing prospects about your opportunity and sending website links
  2. Social bookmarking on sites like Digg, Delicious, Reddit and Pinterest
  3. Prospecting through social media sites like Facebook and Twitter
  4. Blogging about your opportunity or your thoughts on network marketing
  5. Video marketing on Youtube, Vimeo or Daily Motion
  6. Classified Ad posting

Using all of these methods is fine and they are important in giving you some presence online and can add to your value and authority. But, I still say the best way of getting leads is to attend as many networking events as possible.

You can make things happen more quickly when you are stood in front of someone. A live conversation will tell you pretty quickly whether you want someone in your team or not and whether that person is likely to buy from you. Finding out someone’s issue or problem that needs solving takes time when passive marketing. Using Facebook or Twitter tactics will take time to develop trust as peoples’ guards are already up. They are expecting you to sell to them, and you know people don’t like to be sold, they like to buy.

Active Marketing

Face to face networking gives you the opportunity to hone your people skills and to get experience of helping people and giving value. My first networking event was a BNI event in Halifax, west Yorkshire and I was really, really nervous and must have looked it because there were people coming over to talk to me and introducing me to others just to get me to say something! We’ve all been there and looking back, it was funny but a necessary experience.

The last event I attended was last week and I came home with 30 business cards. I don’t go with any as I prefer to listen to people about THEIR businesses and see if they have any online issues or lead generation issues and be there to offer some free information or support to introduce myself as an authority and to give value. I follow up with a phone call the following morning as they have given me the green light to do so – they gave me their business card!!

So, is Passive marketing still important when looking at active marketing?

Of course it is. Passive marketing can get you and your opportunity out there globally while active marketing will probably get you out there locally and nationally depending on your travel budget! You just have to expect to wait to develop friendships and trust when prospecting on Facebook and Twitter.

Keep smiling :)
