My background is retail in the leisure industry and entertainment industries. I began working for my dad on my 12th birthday collecting empty glasses and wiping tables in his pub. I remember helping him count up the takings in the mornings before school and helping him balance the books. I’d get home from school and fill up the chillers and the cold shelf and replentish the crisps and snacks. As I got older I would take in deliveries and get to know the customers and help solve problems as i cleared tables and collected glasses. By the age of 18 I was working behind the bar, training staff and running the place on my dads night off or when they took a vacation.
I’ve always been around businesses and successful business people. Over the years I’ve understood what makes a business work or fail and that is inevitably the business owner and their attitude and work rate. I work very hard but I’m very focused with a plan for the day, month and year. I know what I’m working towards every hour of every day. When you can see your goals, you can see them get closer.
I ended up having pub businesses of my own between contracts as a touring stage manager in the theatre industry. I always had an interest in making money on the internet and I began finding people who were doing well online and I started to learn from them.
